Elder Gabriel Sharpe is a dedicated preacher and the Minister of Music at the New Jerusalem Church Of God In Christ (COGIC) in Virginia Beach, Virginia, under the esteemed leadership of Superintendent Waddee B. Thoroughgood. Born and raised within the rich heritage of the Church Of God In Christ, Elder Sharpe's foundation was built upon a loving home where he was instilled with a deep love for God and His people.

 

From a young age, Elder Sharpe's exceptional musical talents became evident. He has traveled extensively throughout the country, lending his instrumental prowess to numerous acclaimed gospel artists, most notably Ricky Dillard and New G. His remarkable musical journey has also afforded him the privilege of accompanying gospel legends such as the late Bishop Rance Allen, the incomparable Clark Sisters, and the anointed Pace Sisters, among many others. Beyond performance, Elder Sharpe is a gifted songwriter, producer, and arranger, showcasing a comprehensive mastery of music.

In 2015, Elder Gabriel Sharpe answered the undeniable call to ministry while under the leadership of Bishop Stenneth Powell at Abundant Life Cathedral COGIC. He delivered his initial sermon on January 14, 2016, marking a significant step in his pastoral journey. His commitment and spiritual growth led to his ordination as an Elder in the Church Of God In Christ in 2020.

Following the voice of God, Elder Sharpe relocated to Virginia Beach, Virginia, in July 2023, where he embraced his new role at New Jerusalem COGIC. Shortly after his move, he was blessed to meet his beloved wife, the former Portia L. Hicks. Their hearts united, and they became one in July of 2024. Together, Elder Gabriel and Portia Sharpe are devoted parents to four wonderful children: Davion, Datia,

Gabrielle, and Christian.
